Can we create more happy and healthy helpers?
Sep 19, 2025
Hi, I am Line
My goal is to support and guide you to release the terror of severe stress and trauma.
Too many people struggle with health issues, self love, relationship challenges and more that make their life feel miserable and themselves feel unworthy.
Also so many who are working with helping others struggle. Doctors are actually on the top list of people who commit suicide every year. Most of those who come to me are working in the health and social service. So many are exhausted and on their way to be burned out. Many struggle with pain, often get sick, feel sad, easily irritated, unfocused and have a lot of shame.
For many years I worked in the psychiatric and addiction treatment field. After I myself got burned out I decided I wanted to be a helper for the helpers.
If the helpers cannot do their job, who shall be there for all the others?
We need to understand that we who are helping others also are human beings, as we get affected by things that are happening around us like everybody else. It is urgent that we get support and guidance so we have resilience enough to stay strong in the field when the challenges come. In that way we will build more inner peace and safety, and have trust in our ability to be a compassionate and caring support for those who suffer.
We need to have the possibility to re-charge after challenging events. We need coaching and to be listened to when we feel it's too much. We need to be taken seriously, not only as a professional helper, but also as a human with a caring heart. Instead in the official world it is, unfortunately, an expectation that we shall be “neutral and objective”, as is seen as being like a person who has no feelings and reactions to what is going on. It is a big lack of regular support groups, and possibility to recharge after stressful and challenging events.
Ex are doctors who go from one to another patient without a small break to recharge between, and therefore take the story from the first one with them to the next. Or a therapist at a clinic who does exactly the same. Been there, done that.
We need a field of love and care for all who work in the field, so we can continue to be the best helpers. The best helpers are actually those who acknowledge that they can both be compassionate and loving, and still stay strong in the challenges without being overwhelmed.
We need a system that takes care of their workers, and stops the “new management” thinking as they are occupied with production. If the opposite was the case, not only will the users of the service be more healthy and happy, but also those who work in the field. As again will result in less sick leave and people who quit their job as professional helpers.
